Next restaurant day is on Saturday 19th (in 2 days) and although the majority of the restaurants are in Helsinki or other locations in Finland, you can find some in Germany, Austria, Sweden… hopefully in future there will be more international locations available. But if you’re in Helsinki this Saturday, then it’s going to be a tough choice to pick the right place. I’ve been sitting here for a while now reading and I still can’t make up my mind about where to go, I just know I’m getting really hungry right now and there are too many hours left before it starts. The first restaurant actually opens the night between Friday and Saturday, 00:00, so you can start then and go restaurant hopping all day if you want to.

A naive part of me probably thinks I can replace empty holes inside me by buying a car. If I’m completely honest to myself, I don’t think I will ever be completely happy until I get them both – the car, and the person to enjoy the car with. But if I can fix 50% of the holes inside me with the joy of being around a car, fixing it, washing it, waxing it, driving it, swearing at it when it breaks down, kissing it when it works again – then that’s all I can ask for right now.

It is such a thrill to look at another persons face when they grin from happiness because the car they’re in just drives perfect, it sounds perfect, and it might give them even more satisfaction if the driving experience is a result of the time (and money) they have put into the car working on it. We all know that for example a Lamborghini, or a Ferrari, might be pretty much perfect when it drives out from the factory. But many old sports cars, for example JDM:s, become a result of who you are and what you want to create. You know how you want it to sound, you know how you want it to handle, and you can modify almost everything on it to make it your dream car. The perfection – or at least close to perfection – the luxury sports cars can offer is of course a nice option too. But on the other hand if you have a project car that you over time upgrade with better parts to get more power, a better driving experience and become one step closer to owning your ultimate dream version of that model, then it might be even more rewarding than driving a Lamborghini that doesn’t need any work done on it, because it already has everything you possibly could dream of.

So yes, you can fall in love with a car. And you don’t need to be rich either, it has nothing to do with it – doesn’t matter if you have a Lamborghini or Impreza. It’s the passion you have for it that matters. I almost feel sorry for my future car, because it feels like I have so much love inside me right now that just needs to get out, so that car is going to get an overdose of it. The good thing though is, that broken cars you can usually fix, while it might be harder with relationships. So my vote goes to the car.

So if anyone is selling an affordable old Japanese sports car this summer then you can keep this single woman looking for love post in mind, I could have use for a road trip car.

I happen to belong to the group of people that enjoy working on a tan if I am on the beach, so the long sleeves might not be the most practical ones with that in mind, but this would be an epic piece for surfing, kitesurfing, wakeboarding… and it is (or was, if it’s sold out) a bargain at 19,95€.
