Greece in April – Corfu and Athens
We’re going to Greece in April as a bunch of 6 persons for approx. 1 week. 4 nights will be in the Villa Piedra, Corfu. The last 2-3 nights will be in Athens. Have you been to Athens? What are the must see’s and do’s, where’s the best (budget friendly) shopping, anyone have some nice hotel recommendations..? This will be my first time in Athens, so all tips are appreciated! In Corfu we will rent a car, but I suppose that in Athens you don’t even need one as it’s such a big city and easy to get around anyway? Are there any cool places nearby Athens that absolutely should be visited?
The Villa Piedra in Corfu looks by the way beyond anything I’ve ever stayed at and once I get a taste of it, I don’t know if I’ll return. Outdoor jacuzzi overflowing into the pool, outdoor dining table and barbeque, 3 bedrooms, fireplace, Dolby surround-sound system both indoors and outdoors.. during the day you can hang around the pool and enjoy good barbeque food, at night you can have a beer and look at the stars with the telescope. The bathroom and kitchen are pretty much the only rooms that don’t have a LCD TV, but I don’t know if I’ll even turn one on during my stay – who would want to watch TV when you see the sea and the stars from the pool?! Can it be April already?
